Troubleshooting / FAQs

Problem: I can’t get in!

Exit and start all over again.

Problem: My video isn’t working/People can’t see me.

To turn your video on, scroll to the bottom of the Zoom screen once you are in the meeting. At the bottom left, there will be an icon of a movie camera with a red line through it. Click on the red line and your camera will be turned on so that people can see you.

Problem: People can’t hear me.

The mute button is at the bottom of the Zoom screen. Click on that to mute or un-mute your microphone. A red line showing through the microphone icon means you are muted. Please keep your line muted when you are not speaking to cut down on background noise.

Problem: I don’t know how to raise my hand.

Select “Participants” from the right side of the Zoom screen. Hover over your name and the option to “Raise Your Hand” will appear. Select this when you are ready to share. The host will monitor the raised hands and let you know when it is your turn to speak. You will see who is in attendance at the meeting. Some meetings do not require you to raise your hand, so just jump in when you want to share.
